So my daughter made some not so good choices a few weeks ago.

After a few minutes of digging, we realized her bad choices came down to this: she wanted to be like the cool kids at school

It only took me about 5 minutes of preaching to her to realize that I basically do the same exact thing.

And so do you.

Sure we might have outgrown the patchy facial hair, cracking voice, untreatable acne and pizza BO that plagues many a junior high kids, but for the most part, we all still play the same game of trying to be as cool as the other 'kids'. It's just a lot more expensive now.

If the weight of my inadequacies were dumbbells, I'd be ripped.

"You know they will soon find out that there is less to you than it appears right?"

"You really think God is going to keep letting you bat?"

"Your inconsistency + your pride will NEVER equal being used by God for great things."

"Look. He's so much better than you. You're not that significant because you just found that out."

"Look. You're so much better than him. You're not that significant because you just thought that."

Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, dad, Dad, Dad...

54 times.

Pretty sure that's how many times my daughter has said dad in the last 54 seconds.

Its unrelenting. A truly unending slew of requests.

I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I get frustrated cause I'm tired and I just want to watch the game. Or take a break. Or actually have the last sip of my pop instead of share it.

Good news is our heavenly papa ain't like me. The prophet Isaiah says...

It's 11PM and my wife and I are sitting on the couch crying.

It turns out this is going to be a lot harder than we ever imagined.

We didn't go into this blindly. We counted the cost. We sought spiritual counsel. We also considered every scenario front and back. Even sideways.

It was a tough decision but we both decided that I needed to do it. I needed to leave soon after our baby would be born.

I honestly can't tell you how much I'm going to miss my girls. I want to cry just thinking about it, but I gotta do this.

Meet Eden Grace Adebiyi.

Born Fabruary 6th 2012. 7pounds, 15oz, 21inches long with lots of hair.

The last 4 days have been a blur. I seriously don't even know what today's date is. These things I do know:

Jesus rocks my face off. I love my daughter. That first poopy diaper is a um, well, you just gotta see it to believe it.
