2 days, 2 mins & 2 *fictional* secs in heaven.
2:13 PM.
Walking home.
Burrito in one hand, Ipod in other.
‘Oh praise him’ blaring.
Stopped in my tracks.
Confusion. Fear. Terror.
Thick smokes cover sky.
Day becomes night.
100 bolts of lightening strike all at once.
No, a thousand bolts.
They remain still in the sky.
Terrifying thunder. Over and over again.
Trees uprooted. Mountains crumble at the sound...
Extreme terror.
I’m near death. I must be.
Blink once. Everything changes.
I’m with Jesus.
Day 1:
I see Jesus.
No hugs or high fives.
Glory knocks me off my feet.
On my face.
I lay flat and tremble for hours.
Or was it minutes.
Maybe seconds.
My heart feels like it could explode.
I wanna run away
I wanna run toward.
My eyes have seen the king.
I’m near death. I must be.
No, I’m not.
I actually feel... ALIVE.
Fully alive. Like a newborn.
I can feel deep joy rushing through my veins.
Worship.
Not songs. Whole life.
Everything in, of and about me is pointed in one direction.
Every tear drop has weight.
Every movement a purpose.
My heart has no restrictions. Feels no pain. Knows no sorrow.
My soul feasts on deep satisfaction. Lasting satisfaction.
Most incredible day of my life.
Day 2:
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!
Literally.
Most amazing being I’ve ever seen.
No, not amazing.
Incredible.
No, awesome.
No, HOLY.
HOLY HOLY.
HOLY. HOLY. HOLY.
Whoa.
Screaming.
My God! MY GOD!! MY GREAT GOD!!!
There is none like you.
I have NEVER seen anything like this before.
More screaming.
Where is the sun? the moon?
They hide.
The shrink.
I hide.
I shrink.
Less of me. More of you.
My knees buckle and i’m facedown again.
It won’t get any better than this. It can’t.
Whoa! Yesterday was amazing but today!
Today is even better. Greatest day ever!...
Greatest day ever.
“When we’ve been there 10 thousand years, bright shinning as the stars, we’ve no less days to sing Gods praise than when we first began”
He is great enough, big enough and holy enough to continually wow us for all of eternity.
Think about that for a second.
Every present day in eternity with Jesus will be the most satisfying day of our lives but the days following will always, ALWAYS top that. Forever.
*This is NOT a fictional statement*.
There is more of Jesus than eternity can hold.
Think about that last sentence for a minute or two, like really think about. Then tell me what comes to mind. How great is our God?
If that last statement is true, how should it affect our lives today?
Its saturday so we've going with a buffet of questions here folks. Lots of room to use your imagination.
What are you most looking forward to about heaven? or what are you most curious to know about being with Jesus forever?
