The bad idea blog.
So a few months ago I stumbled across a creative post called “bad idea inspiration” by Jonathan Malm. Absolutely brilliant.
Here’s the idea.
You think of royally bad idea then work on finding the good in the idea. The point is by forcing yourself to think of bad ideas, you allow yourself to think freely.
Great way to exercise creative muscles.
Some examples from my buddy Jonathan are 'flammable oven mitts' and 'speed limits that change the speed randomly'. Ha. Ha. Here are some my wife and I came up with:
ROYALLY BAD IDEAS GONE GOOD:
1. Hearing aids that constantly play loud music.
How could this be good?
* You don’t need to buy an MP3 player cause it already comes with your hearing aid.
* Worship leaders don’t have to worry about the music being to loud for old(er) folks cause they will ask for the music to be cranked up so they can hear it over their hearing aid.
* Imagine what Apple could do with the iear?
2. Spam-only email services.
How could this be good?
* We’ll no longer fear losing emails to the spam folder since everything is spam.
* A great opportunity to learn the real life skill of how to find the good in the midst of junk.
3. Cavity causing toothpaste.
How could this be good?
* You can finally use up all the benefits you’re paying for in dental insurance (which no one ever does).
* Also speeds up the process for those crazy people who like to visit the dentist often.
4. Prisons in malls.
How could this be good?
* It can discourage shop-lifting cause people will see immediate consequences of living a life of crime. No one in their right mind will rob a prison mall.
* Having prisons in malls could also provide the mall with extra security.
Ok. Your turn. Exercise your creative muscle.
First think of a royally bad idea then try to find the good in it. Or you can challenge me by just thinking of bad ideas and I'll do my best to find the good in them.
K. GO.
