B.F.F'S PART 1 [MY BEST FRIEND CAN BEAT UP YOUR BEST FRIEND]
Meet John. Best Friend Forever. Yes that is really him in the picture. [Click the image, enlarge it, be in awe of his 'temple'. But ladies, don't look too close or u might stumble].
John was a former body-builder. He doesn’t quite look like that anymore but don’t be fooled, he’s still packing, so if John and I ever got in an altercation with you and your best friend, you’d better run.
J/K. John would never beat you up, not because he couldn’t but because he’s the most loving person I know. Seriously, Its not even a contest. Don’t get me wrong. He’s not perfect. He’s got hair growing in all the wrong places and I still don’t know how he got Christine to marry him because he’s got the worst ‘game’ of anyone I know.
But what he lacks in ‘game’, he more than makes up for in heart. I promise I’m not exaggerating when I say that John has loved me in a way that has far exceeded anything I’ve ever known or hoped for in a friend.
He not only walked with me in the ‘desert’ but he was the first guy I ever told things I never thought I could tell anyone. I remember calling John at 2AM, balling my eyes out wanting life to end. He didn’t have all the answers but he always answered the phone.
One time a girl broke up with me and John drove 4 hours to take me home.
Other than my wife, no one else has said “I love you” to me and meant it as much as John.
I could write a whole book of inside jokes that only John and I would find funny.
I’m also pretty sure there’s nothing I can tell John that would ever change how he feels about me.
And oh, remember that scene from LOTR where Sam was drowning and frodo saved him? Yea, that happened to us. I was drowning in a lake and John saved me. Literally.
I could go on and on. Point is, I wouldn’t be anywhere close to where I am today if God didn’t send me a friend like John.
Someone once said ‘if you want to go fast in life, go alone. If you want to go far, go with a friend’.
In other words, everyone needs a ‘John’.
Doesn’t matter if you are single, married, 18 or 72 years old. You need a ‘John’ to be all God wants you to be. They don’t need to have 64 pack abs like 'my John', they just need to truly know you and love you unconditionally.
Do you have a ‘John’ in your life? If so, tell us about him/her? What makes them a BFF?
If not, what's holding u back? what’s been your biggest challenge to having a BFF?
