Black Friday: Sweet and Sour Families.

Dec 9 2011

Do you guys want to start a blog tradition?

Last friday I wrote about nothing (literally) and 150 comments later, I was stunned at your response. A few fridays prior, I had asked this simple question "How are you?" and once again I was blown away by the amount of dialogue that took place (over 100 comments).

Checking my blog on those posts was like walking into Walmart on black friday. It was crazy in this mug and I absolutely loved it.

I'm not sure about other bloggers out there, but for me, dialogue is one of my biggest wins on here. It doesn't get any better than when you guys talk back, especially to each other.

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure why the response blew up on these posts, but my biggest guess is it happened because everyone is looking for space to be honest and to be heard.

I could be wrong but I guess we'll find out depending on how this new 'black-friday' tradition holds up. The idea is every friday, I slightly nudge us in a direction then step back and let you guys go for it.

Now having said all that, I don't wanna force anything so if there's not much of a response then this might just end up being one of those 2 week traditions :). I guess we'll see. *fingers crossed*

Today I want us to talk family.

It's the Christmas season which means lots of Jesus (hopefully), egg nog (gross!), Elf (you sit on a throne of lies), caroling (anyone still do this?), ugly sweaters (you're welcome for that blog pic), meaningless spending (that was before you read my "I hate Christmas" post right?) and family.

For some of us, that last one is sweet. For others it's sour. Or both.

Not sure what your family dynamic is but I just wanted to offer you some space to be heard and honest before the family binge that's coming this Christmas season.

Good, bad, ugly. Bring it on.

Tell me about your family.
