#OccupyMyBlog Day 9.

Feb 3 2012

I’m about to experience one of the greatest miracles the world has ever seen.

I know it happens everyday. In fact it just happened to my next door neighbor. And it might have happened to your co-worker also. Or your cousin. Aunt? Maybe even you.

* It’s nothing new yet it’s everything new.
* It’s so natural yet it’s completely supernatural.
* It’s super cliche yet it’s probably the most incredible thing you’ll hear today.
* It’s completely and utterly common yet its completely and utterly never been seen before.

I know I (Sammy) should be on sabbatical from the blog right now but I’m gonna cheat and stick my head in a little bit. Sorry but I can’t hold back. I have to shout this at the top of my cyber lungs...

MY WIFE IS ABOUT TO HAVE BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me say that again. She is about to have a baby. Like a real breathing human being will soon come out of her.

No this isn’t a Sci-fi horror flick. It’s one of the greatest miracles God ever conceived (pun very much intended).

Is there a reason why this doesn’t just wreck us? Is there a reason people don’t just set up tents outside every hospital just to witness Gods miracle of birth every single day?

I don’t know if you’ve thought about this before but technically God didn’t have to do it this way. He could have just created 6 billion people at once.

Sounds nuts but that would be easy for him considering that he made 10 septillion (that’s 10 to the power of 24) stars in one breath. So yea, making 7 billion humans is no big deal for Jehovah.

But he didn’t do it that way. He came up with something cooler.

Man. Woman. Marriage. Sex. New life.

Amazing.

But that's not the best part. You ready for this? Oh my, you better fasten your seat belts.

Every single birth has his finger prints on it. i.e, there’s not a baby factory in heaven where angels are working 8hr shifts to stamp out generic babies.

No.

The Psalmist says he himself personally knits us together in our mothers womb. Yes. All 7 billion people currently on earth. Knit in their moms wombs.

Please don’t tell me God doesn’t love you.

* You are a living miracle.
* You birth was nothing new but yet it was everything new.
* You birth was normal but yet completely out of this world supernatural.
* Your birth was a cliche but yet you were one of the most incredible things that happened that day.
* You were completely and utterly common at birth but yet you were also completely never been seen before your birth.

That’s not a testament to your greatness. It’s a proclamation of his unfathomable greatness.

You ARE a living breathing walking miracle.

So yes, please pray for us as my wife births a baby sometime in the next 6 days. Pray for grace and protection. Pray I don’t pass out when I see the blood.

But most of all, pray that we soak in every single moment of this miracle that's about to happen. Pray that we see and make much of Jesus through it.

One more thing... take a deep breath okay?

I know life can be cruel but God knit you. He saw every day of your life while you were in your moms womb. Your birth day was not a coincidence. It was a miracle worth celebrating. A miracle I want to celebrate today.

Here's the plan and I want everyone to participate. 2 things.

1. Share your birthday. (you don't have to include the yearsmiley. April 4th is fine)
2. Celebrate the miracle of someone else's birthday (say congrats or a prayer, share a verse, encourage, smilie face or just respond with exclamation marks. Say what you wish someone would say to you) by responding to someone else's comment.

Got it? Lets go.

So, when was the miracle of your birth? Also, will you encourage someone else by replying to their comment?
