One way you can audibly hear God today.
God spoke audibly to me on Saturday and I believe he wants to do the same to you today.
Here’s what happened.
Saturday was just one of those days.
I felt like I was running on E. I had nothing to give and the race just seemed too hard. I was tired and quite frankly I wanted to quit.
Quit writing. Quit this blog. Quit dreaming. Quit my new job...
I think I just needed someone to tell me I was doing a good job. I needed someone to look me in the eye and say...
I'm proud of you Sammy. I'm proud of you as a husband and dad.
I'm proud of Gods work in your life and what you've done with this blog.
I'm proud of you as a man and a leader. You're doing a great job Sammy.
That's all I needed.
So I knelt in my living room and asked Jesus to fill me and it was then I heard him.
I know its hard to believe but its true. God said spoke to me. In fact here were his exact words:
'You are my beloved son in whom I am well pleased'
Wait Sammy, I've heard that before. Isn't that what God said about Jesus during his baptism?
Yup.
If you're not familiar with the story, right after Jesus’ baptism, God said this audibly:
'This is my beloved son in whom I'm well pleased'
Ever wonder why God said that audibly as opposed to secretly to Jesus?
I think he did for 2 reasons.
1. He just couldn't help it.
He was so darn proud of Jesus that just like dad yelling from baseball bleachers, he just had to say 'that's my son'
2. He wanted others to hear it.
Others including you and me.
See the bible says when we become born again, we inherit Jesus’ righteousness.
Meaning everything God feels about Jesus, he feels about us. And everything God says to Jesus, he says to us.
So though it was years ago, I believe that what God audibly said to Jesus, He was and IS saying to us as well.
I know this was not what you expected from my title but please listen up cause this is for real.
Just as we look back 2K years and embrace by faith Gods work at the cross, we can look back and embrace by faith Gods word at the river Jordan.
Today I wanna challenge you to hear by faith what God said audibly about you 2000 years ago.
YOU ARE MY BELOVED SON/DAUGHTER IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED.
Do you hear it?
Because you're in Christ, God is proud of you. In fact he'll never be any more proud of you than he is right now.
What do you think about that?
What area of life would you most want to hear someone say I'm proud of you?
