Questions about 9/11.
Dad, what happened at 9/11?
How do I really answer that question?
Should I try to shield her from the cold reality of how depraved humanity is?
Or should I let her soak in the uncensored chilling images of how two giant buildings with people in them collapsed?
How is she going to process what I still can't process after 10 years?
Where do I start?
How am I supposed to explain 'terrorists' to a kid?
Should I really be surprised at the puzzled look on her face because she can't fathom why someone would ever do something like that?
What about the thousands who lost loved ones?
What about the heroes of United 93 and all the firemen who went in when everyone else was coming out?
How should their bravery and sacrifice affect our lives 10 years later?
Should we be saying something more about them? Doing something more because of them?
Perhaps this isn't supposed to make sense?
Maybe we're supposed to just mourn, remember and hug our loved ones a little tighter while we can?
What do you think? You mind processing this with me? What kind of questions are you asking about today?
What will you tell your kids about 9/11?
Where were you and what were you doing when those planes hit?
