What are you talking about? Or more appropriately, who are you talking about?

A few weeks ago I posted the worst journal entry in the history of the world by yours truly. Gotta tell you, I've come a long ways since I wrote that. My prayers over the last years have been consistently inward focused.

Change my heart. Draw me to you. Help me love you. Help me want you. Incline my heart to you.

Man, I can't tell you how much I've prayed that.

Part of it is because I can be so lukewarm and inconsistent in my walk with God. The other part is there's really nothing i want more than to have a heart that loves Jesus.

So I prayed and prayed and prayed that God would do what only he can do in my heart. Over and Over again.

And you know what? It's starting to happen. God is starting to change my heart. I'm starting to love Jesus more and more. And you know one of the ways I know?

He's what I'm talking about. Or who I'm talking about rather.

Jesus is who I'm talking about.

It's strange really. It's like Jesus just keeps spilling out into more thoughts and conversations of mine. I can't stop talking about him. Or in the least wanting to talk about him.

Please don't misunderstand what I mean by talking about Jesus.

I'm not referring to some religiously motivated fervor. I'm not talking about trying to be evangelistic. This isn't a bumper sticker personality or being pastoral.

I'm not trying to be positive or super spiritual. I'm not even talking about singing worship songs about Jesus or praying in his name.

I'm talking about the kind of 'talking' that happens when you really love something or someone. 

No marketing strategies, no hooks. Just a response of love.

Ever talk to an Apple fan boy? It's like they are related to Steve Jobs (bless his soul). Can't get them to shut up about their Iphone and Ipad.

Or that Buckeye fan. Can he just go one day... seriously, one day without talking about his team?

Fantasy football. Forever 21. ESPN. HGTV. Coke. Oprah. Diets. Survivor. Biggest loser.

Isn't it amazing how many 'names' we champion?

I'm not making a case against any of those things, just pointing out that people will always talk about what they love.

Consequently, If you love Jesus, then he's gonna be a part of your speech. You're gonna talk about him a lot. His name will come out of your mouth a ton.

Again, I'm not talking about mechanical contrived "I love Jesus" chit chats.

We all know those 'people'. They say his name a lot but like a salesman working for commission. It's fake and annoying rather than inspiring.

That's not what I'm talking about. 

I'm talking his name just spilling out in your dialogue. Like the 17 year who is in love, His name is on your lips.

More than any other name.

When your guard is down and you're not trying to push anything or impress anyone, Jesus comes out.
When you have an opportunity to shine your light...you open your mouth and his name comes out.
When people give you credit for something...you go to respond and the name Jesus comes out.
When you go to journal... you write more about Jesus than you.
When you have a QT, his name fills the air.

So, let me ask you again.

Jesus or something/someone else?

If we asked unchurched people what the Christians around them are mostly talking about, what do you think they would say?
